A Surrey-based Local Authority is seeking an experienced Environmental Protection Officer to join their Environmental Health team on an interim basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Environmental Protection professional with experience handling statutory nuisance and pollution-related investigations within a local authority setting.

The Role You will be responsible for investigating and resolving a range of Environmental Protection matters, including:

  • Statutory nuisance complaints
  • Noise nuisance investigations
  • Pollution control and environmental enforcement
  • Environmental permitting work
  • Planning consultations and planning application responses
  • Air quality, odour, dust and other pollution-related issues
  • Serving notices and undertaking formal enforcement where required
  • Providing professional advice to residents, businesses and stakeholders About You We're keen to hear from candidates with experience in:
  • Environmental Protection Act 1990
  • Statutory nuisance investigations
  • Noise complaint management
  • Pollution control and enforcement
  • Environmental Health or Environmental Protection within a local authority
  • Environmental permitting and regulatory compliance
  • Planning consultations and reviewing planning applications Candidates with previous experience as an:
  • Environmental Protection Officer
  • Senior Environmental Protection Officer
  • Principal Environmental Protection Officer
  • Pollution Control Officer
