Job Description

Income Officer – Housing (Hybrid)\\n\\nAn experienced Income Officer is required to support effective rent collection and income recovery across a residential housing portfolio in East London. This is a hybrid role, with two days per week office-based and the remainder working remotely.\\n\\nKey responsibilities:\\n\\n * \\n\\n Manage a patch of rent accounts, taking ownership of arrears cases from early intervention through to resolution\\n\\n * \\n\\n Maximise rental income through proactive contact, payment plans and sustained tenant engagement\\n\\n * \\n\\n Provide advice and support around welfare benefits, including Universal Credit, and make appropriate referrals\\n\\n * \\n\\n Prepare cases for legal action where necessary, including court and possession processes\\n\\n * \\n\\n Maintain accurate case notes and performance data in line with policies and procedures\\n\\n * \\n\\n Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to sustain tenancies and reduce arrears\\n\\nAbout you:\\n\\n * \\n\\n Proven experience in income management within social or affordable housing\\n\\n * \\n\\n Strong knowledge of rent arrears processes, welfare benefits and housing legislation\\n\\n * \\n\\n Confident communicator with a customer-focused and solutions-led approach\\n\\n * \\n\\n Able to manage a varied caseload independently while meeting performance targets
