We are currently recruiting for an experienced Environmental Protection Officer to join a Local Authority on a part‑time contract basis. Key Responsibilities
- Investigate statutory nuisance complaints and take appropriate enforcement action where required
- Manage a range of public health issues, including waste accumulations and filthy/verminous properties
- Provide expert advice on licensing applications
- Conduct pest and rodent investigations, including work under the Prevention of Damage by Pests Act 1949
- Utilise enforcement tools such as Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) and Community Protection Notices (CPNs)
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in a Local Authority Environmental Protection/Health role
- Strong background in statutory nuisance investigations and enforcement
- Experience dealing with public health concerns, including environmental health hazards
- Knowledge and practical application of CPWs and CPNs
