Our client, a local authority in Kent, is seeking an experienced Environmental Health Officer / Environmental Protection to provide interim support across the full Environmental Protection function. This is a well‑rounded role requiring competence across planning support, statutory nuisance, licensing, and contaminated land, making it ideal for a strong all‑round EP professional.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Environmental Protection services across all core EP functions
- Manage and investigate statutory nuisance complaints, including noise, odour, smoke, and other environmental nuisances
- Provide Environmental Protection input into planning applications, including noise, air quality, contaminated land, and other EP considerations
- Support licensing functions, offering environmental health advice and attending hearings when required
- Undertake work related to contaminated land, including assessments, consultations, and remediation advice
- Prepare reports, notices, and legal documentation in line with legislation and council procedures
- Liaise professionally with internal departments, external stakeholders, businesses, and members of the public
- Ensure work is delivered in line with relevant legislation, guidance, and council policies
