Private Sector Housing Officer
A local authority in Dorset are seeking an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer to join their team on an initial 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an officer with strong housing enforcement and compliance experience who can hit the ground running and support a busy service.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertaking HHSRS inspections and producing associated reports.
- Carrying out mandatory HMO licensing inspections.
- Managing cases relating to the Renters' Rights Act and wider private sector housing legislation.
- Investigating housing compliance issues and taking appropriate enforcement action where necessary.
- Handling a range of additional private sector housing matters including:
- Statutory nuisances
- Electrical Safety Regulations
- Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES)
- General housing standards and compliance work
Requirements
- Previous experience working within Private Sector Housing for a local authority.
- Strong knowledge of HHSRS, housing enforcement, and HMO licensing.
- Ability to manage complex cases independently.
Contract Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Rate: £50 per hour
- Hours: 37 hours per week
