They are looking for a TechOne Consultant to join them on a freelance basis, supporting the configuration, delivery and ongoing improvement of their TechnologyOne enterprise software across council services. The successful candidate will work with finance, HR, property and wider business teams to understand requirements and turn them into effective system solutions. The role covers configuration, process design, testing, data work and user support, with a focus on making sure the platform supports how the council operates and reports.
This is a position for a consultant who is comfortable moving between technical detail and business conversations. It suits someone who can work independently within a public sector environment, explain solutions clearly to non-technical colleagues and keep delivery moving against agreed priorities and timelines.
Main responsibilitiesConfigure, maintain and optimise TechnologyOne modules in line with business requirementsWork with service teams to gather requirements and translate them into system solutionsDesign and document business processes, workflows and system configurationSupport implementation, upgrade and change projects, including planning, testing and go-live activityCarry out data migration, cleansing and validation activity where requiredDevelop and maintain reports, dashboards and management informationPlan and run system testing and user acceptance testing, and manage defects through to resolutionProvide training, guidance and ongoing support to system usersInvestigate and resolve system issues, liaising with the supplier where necessaryMaintain accurate project and system documentation and report progress to stakeholdersRequirementsEssentialProven experience as a TechnologyOne consultant, analyst or similar roleHands-on experience configuring and supporting one or more TechnologyOne modules, such as Finance, HR and Payroll, Procurement or Property and RatingExperience gathering requirements and translating them into system configurationExperience supporting testing, implementation and change activityGood understanding of business processes within finance, HR or related areasStrong written and verbal communication skillsDesirablePrevious experience within a local authority or wider public sector settingExperience in reporting and analytics tools linked to TechnologyOneExperience with data migration and integration workKnowledge of relevant TechnologyOne certifications or trainingExperience delivering end user trainingThe offerThis is a freelance role based in Essex.
