We are looking for a dedicated Caseworker to join our Temporary Accommodation service in Somerset.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting vulnerable individuals who is passionate about helping people achieve positive housing outcomes and greater independence.

The Role

As a Caseworker, you will provide practical and person-centred support to residents living in temporary accommodation.

You will work closely with individuals to address barriers to housing, access appropriate support services, and help them move towards independent living.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of residents within temporary accommodation.
  • Complete support plans, needs assessments, and regular reviews.
  • Support residents with housing, benefits, budgeting, and tenancy-related matters.
  • Signpost and refer residents to relevant support services and agencies.
  • Promote independence and support residents in achieving their goals.
  • Maintain accurate records and case notes in line with organisational requirements.
  • Work closely with local authorities, housing providers, and other partner agencies.
  • Ensure safeguarding concerns are identified and reported appropriately.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working in housing, homelessness, supported housing, temporary accommodation, or a similar support environment.
  • Experience supporting vulnerable individuals with a range of needs.
  • Good understanding of housing and support services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload and prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Good IT and record-keeping skills.
