We’re working with a public sector organisation (local authority / housing / estates portfolio) looking to appoint an experienced M&E Engineer to support the management of building services across their estate. This is a hands-on role focused on maintenance, compliance, and contractor management, rather than design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works across M&E assets
  • Oversee external contractors, ensuring work is delivered safely and to standard
  • Support statutory compliance (electrical, mechanical, H&S)
  • Assist with condition surveys and asset management planning
  • Deliver and support minor works / capital projects
  • Act as a key point of contact for estates, FM teams, and internal stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in a building services / estates environment
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems
  • Experience managing contractors and service providers
  • Understanding of compliance and statutory regulations
  • Background in public sector estates, housing, NHS, or FM is highly desirable
