What your day will look like:

As the resident Optometrist, you will work closely with an experienced dispensing and support team to provide comprehensive and tailored patient care. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive eye examinations
  • Providing contact lens appointments and aftercare
  • Advising patients on eye health and preventative care
  • Delivering a patient-first clinical experience
  • Working collaboratively with Dispensing Opticians and support teams
  • Recommending appropriate optical solutions focused on patient benefit
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records
  • Supporting practice growth through excellent patient relationships
  • Participating in clinical governance and quality assurance processes

Equipment and Technology

The practice is well-equipped with modern diagnostic technology to support high clinical standards and enhanced patient care. Equipment includes:

  • Fundus camera
  • Tonometry
  • Visual field testing equipment
  • Advanced contact lens assessment tools
  • Modern testing and dispensing environments

Additional accreditations such as GRR or Post Cataract experience would be advantageous, although not essential.

Hours and flexibility

Full-time permanent position based on 38.875 hours per week. Open to negotiation on hours and rota. No Sunday working. No Bank Holiday working. Includes 1 Saturday off per month. Typical opening hours are expected to fall within:

  • Monday - Friday: 9:00am - 5:30pm
  • Saturday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
