What your day will look like:
As the resident Optometrist, you will work closely with an experienced dispensing and support team to provide comprehensive and tailored patient care.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive eye examinations
- Providing contact lens appointments and aftercare
- Advising patients on eye health and preventative care
- Delivering a patient-first clinical experience
- Working collaboratively with Dispensing Opticians and support teams
- Recommending appropriate optical solutions focused on patient benefit
- Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records
- Supporting practice growth through excellent patient relationships
- Participating in clinical governance and quality assurance processes
This is a role where you will have the time to build rapport with patients and genuinely make a difference within the local community.
Equipment and Technology
The practice is well-equipped with modern diagnostic technology to support high clinical standards and enhanced patient care.
Equipment includes:
- OCT
- Fundus camera
- Tonometry
- Visual field testing equipment
- Advanced contact lens assessment tools
- Modern testing and dispensing environments
Additional accreditations such as GRR or Post Cataract experience would be advantageous, although not essential.
Hours and flexibility
- Full-time permanent position
- Based on 38.875 hours per week
- Open to negotiation on hours and rota
- No Sunday working
- No Bank Holiday working
- Includes 1 Saturday off per month
Typical opening hours are expected to fall within:
- Monday - Friday: 9:00am - 5:30pm
- Saturday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
