An established independent optical and hearing care provider is seeking a qualified Optometrist to join its team in Surrey. This role focuses on delivering high-quality eye care and promoting eye health in line with professional standards, ensuring the best possible visual outcomes for patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens consultations, and specialist clinics (e.g. dry eye), in line with qualifications and business needs.
- Practice in accordance with General Optical Council (GOC) regulations.
- Provide clear, patient-focused advice on eye health, including lifestyle and preventative care.
- Work collaboratively with dispensing opticians and support teams to deliver a seamless patient experience.
- Make appropriate and well-communicated clinical recommendations with a focus on patient benefit.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date patient records in line with legal and professional standards.
- Utilise and maintain proficiency with advanced diagnostic equipment (e.g. OCT, fundus camera, tonometry, visual fields).
- Stay up to date with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
- Contribute to business growth through excellent patient care and communication.
- Participate in clinical governance and quality assurance processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- BSc (Hons) in Optometry (or equivalent).
- Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).
- Experience working in a community optometry setting.
- Additional accreditations (e.g. glaucoma referral refinement, post-cataract) are advantageous.
