Here’s the facts about the role: As a neighbourhood officer, you’ll be the main contact for your customers within your patch. As their go-to person, they can talk to you about a range of matters in relation to their tenancy conditions, health and safety issues, rent/service charges, repairs and more. The overall aim of this role is to help create attractive, safe and sustainable communities for our customers to live in. As part of this, you’ll make sure we offer them good quality and ‘value for money’ services. You’ll soon get to know and understand who our customers are and be able to identify the support they may need to keep their tenancies. You’ll also recognise when you’ll need to make referrals to the tenancy support team, so that things are put in place for customers to keep and maintain their tenancies.
We’re looking for someone who's customer focused, who can confidently handle challenging customers and any neighbour disputes. Resilience, assertiveness and the ability to work under pressure are important in this role. You’ll have demonstrable experience of working with the general public face to face, or in a public services environment showing a strong background in service delivery. You'll have an awareness/understanding of the social housing sector and although experience in housing management/law would be an advantage, we’re really keen to encourage people from a variety of backgrounds, who can apply a range of transferable skills, and a fresh approach to how we deliver a great customer experience!
As this role involves travel, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use is a requirement. Business mileage will be paid. This offer is subject to a satisfactory DBS check. While you'll have a designated patch, all neighbourhood officers are expected to occasionally provide cover/support to other areas when needed. Interviews are due to take place 16 July (subject to change).
