Job Description:
We’re VIVID! – We’re the fifth largest developer of new homes amongst housing associations in England, having built over 1,500 last year.
We’re a Not-for-Profit Registered Housing Provider with a new build development programme that delivers over 1500 new homes every year. The programme comprises the delivery of new homes via S106 opportunities, JV Partnerships and a land led VIVID delivery programme.
We’re seeking two Land & New Business Assistant’s to join our expanding Land and New Business Team in Portsmouth. This is a full time, permanent role working 37 hours per week, with a minimum of 20% of this to be office-based to promote collaboration and team working.
The Land and New Business Team leads the delivery of the new homes programme and is responsible for acquiring new opportunities and setting in place build contracts for the delivery of these projects.

Here’s the facts about the role:
The Land and New Business Assistant will assist the Planning and Regeneration and the Land and New Business team by providing administrative support, research, invoice processing, collation of information and completion of standard templates to inform financial appraisal, Board Approval and legal acquisition and planning management process.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist in the identification and evaluation of land acquisition and development opportunities
- Research housing markets, pricing, funding structures and planning regulations
- Use development software and tools (e.g. ProVal) to manage data, financial & risk appraisals, and scheme tracking
- Maintain up to date scheme files, audit checklists and programme documentation
- Support stakeholder engagement, public consultation events, and presentations
- Coordinate approvals, document sealing, and liaison with legal and governance teams
- Prepare reports and risk appraisals for project committees
- Collaborate with finance to manage purchase orders, payments and budget tracking
To succeed in this role as a Land and New Business Assistant, you’ll have good IT skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook and bespoke packages i.e. financial appraisal packages Proval. Ideally, you’ll have knowledge of the national housing funding system, housing markets, planning system and the regional/local opportunities for development schemes and the acquisition of land. With an understanding of legal contracts and contract structures.
A driving licence with a car available for business useis essential.
