The Role As an Ophthalmic Scrub Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting the surgical team by preparing theatres, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing expert scrub assistance during ophthalmic procedures.

Key Responsibilities Scrub for a range of ophthalmic procedures, including cataract surgery.

Prepare and check surgical instruments and specialist ophthalmic equipment.

Maintain strict infection prevention and aseptic techniques.

Support surgeons and theatre teams throughout procedures.

Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to clinical governance standards.

Deliver safe, high-quality patient care before, during, and after surgery.

Requirements Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).

Previous experience working as an Ophthalmic Scrub Practitioner.

Competent in cataract surgery and other ophthalmic procedures.

Strong knowledge of theatre protocols and infection control.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Right to work in the UK.

Desirable NHS theatre experience.
