Vivid Healthcare are currently recruiting for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join a busy inpatient team in Birmingham, supporting the assessment and discharge planning of complex and frail adults. This is a fantastic opportunity for an OT with strong acute experience to contribute to a supportive service focused on safe and effective patient discharge.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will provide high-quality occupational therapy assessment and treatment, with a strong focus on discharge planning for complex and frail adult patients. The role is primarily based at one inpatient site in Birmingham, with occasional cross-site cover required as part of the post.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessment and treatment of complex adult inpatients
- Comprehensive discharge planning and coordination
- Undertaking access visits within the community
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Managing a varied inpatient caseload
Requirements
- HCPC registered Occupational Therapist
- Previous experience working in inpatient hospital settings
- Proven experience in discharge planning
- Car driver essential for access visits
- Experience using RIO patient record system desirable
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Contract Details
- Location: Birmingham
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: Up to 8 weeks, with potential extension
- Hours: 08:00 – 16:00, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)
- Working Pattern: Full-time preferred; part-time considered
