Salary - £27,000; Hybrid - 3 days per week in Sheffield Office; Location Sheffield; Reports to: Test Manager
This role helps the Technology team to confidently build and release working software within agreed timescales. Success in this role is about getting a solid understanding of how testing works, mastering our processes, and showing an aptitude for testing, skills development and progression to the higher roles.
Responsibilities
- Keeping test cases up to date
- Working with testers, developers and Product Managers to create test cases and scripts for new projects and existing sites/functionality
- Triages issues reported as bugs (to verify they are reproducible)
- Contributes to overall test team culture (suggestions, new ways of working, etc.)
- Testing across desktop, web, mobile/responsive design and APIs.
- Reporting progress, escalating issues and highlighting potential issues
- Personal workload management and prioritisation able to identify conflicting resource requirements and will raise this
- Executing test cases/scripts in development and deployment

- Some Experience With Automation Is Preferred
- Good to be a subject matter expert (SME) from within the business

Expectations
- Works with Senior/Test Leads to deliver system tests and acceptance test activities
- Works with web and desktop developers to ship working software in increments
- Expected to have learning and development as a core activity and focus in their work (and time and access/experience will be provided by team)
- Will take onboard advice and guidance, a Junior Tester is expected to be mentored
- Can execute a basic test case
- Can gather and prepare test data, test cases with guidance from senior/test leads
- Can offer feedback on a test plan
