Job Description:
At Vive (www.eatvive.com), we craft high-quality, plant-based snack bars and also manufacture for other leading brands at our Leicester-based facility. As part of our growth and commitment to operational excellence, we\’re now preparing to upgrade our food safety systems from SALSA to BRC certification.
We’re looking for a hands-on Technical Manager to own this transition — someone who can bring structure, rigour, and confidence to the process, and help us raise the bar in food safety and quality assurance.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the certification transition from SALSA to BRC, managing the full project lifecycle.
- Conduct a gap analysis between SALSA and BRC requirements and develop a detailed action plan.
- Update and formalise all relevant technical documentation, including HACCP plans, traceability systems, quality manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Oversee internal audits, schedule and prepare for third-party BRC audits, and close out any non-conformances.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager, Quality Team, and Production Staff to embed BRC standards across the site.
- Provide training and mentoring to staff on food safety, hygiene, and BRC compliance expectations.
- Liaise with consultants, auditors, and certification bodies as required.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience leading or supporting a BRC accreditation project (ideally in a small or medium-sized food manufacturing environment).
- Strong understanding of food safety systems, HACCP principles, allergen management, traceability, and quality control.
- Meticulous attention to detail, with excellent documentation and process skills.
- Ability to work hands-on in a production environment and coach team members effectively.
- Familiarity with SALSA standards and the differences in structure and rigour required by BRC.
- Ideally, a qualification in Food Science, Food Safety, or related discipline.
Contract Terms:
- Part time or full time
- Site-based role at our Leicester manufacturing facility.
- Salary 35k – 45k, depending on experience
How to Apply:
If you’re passionate about food safety, love a challenge, and want to make a tangible difference in a growing business, we’d love to hear from you.
