This is used to help cities improve their transport networks; anything from justifying a new cycle lane to setting a new transport strategy for a region. We are dedicated to helping governments leverage our cutting-edge technology with a purpose which helps the community, citizens & residents, focused on improving the long-term liveability of neighbourhoods & environmental sustainability.
About the Role:
In this pivotal role, you will serve as the UK Managing Director, responsible for uniting our Commercial and Delivery operations to drive a culture of continuous optimisation and profitability. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and Board, you will work alongside the CEO – who continues to steer our growth initiatives – to oversee our most mature business, generating 80% of our revenue. You will oversee a diverse team of c.40 professionals across operational and commercial functions, responsible for end-to-end sales & delivery to clients. You will have P&L responsibility, building on a breakeven base in a dominant market position to create a highly profitable core business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Optimisation: Leverage your expertise to continuously identify and implement cost-saving measures and operational improvements, ensuring that our systems and processes are efficient and agile.
- People Leadership: Manage and mentor a diverse group of managers, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence across our Commercial and Delivery teams.
- Strategic Company Management: Play an active role on the Senior Leadership Team and Board, using your expertise to guide company-wide decision-making.
- Financial Stewardship: Use your keen eye for analytical detail to manage the teams through carefully-chosen metrics, which drive your bottom-line outcomes.
- Public Sector Sales & Client Management: Oversee teams engaged in public sector sales, maintain robust client relationships, and act as the ultimate escalation point for complex client challenges.
- External Representation: Serve as the public face of the company when appropriate, working with the CEO and other leadership team members to represent us at conferences, in the media, to government, and with investors
About You:
- You have extensive experience running operational teams, with deep knowledge of how to iterate processes, systems, and structures to achieve meaningful efficiency gains
- You are adept at senior leadership level, excel at managing managers and can bring seasoned experience to company-level decisions
- You have been part of (and ideally led) a transition from growth-at-all-costs to profitability, building a culture of iterative improvement and profit mentality
- You have great client management skills, including experience managing sales teams, and working in long-sales cycle environments, ideally selling to public sector
- You think in numbers, bringing a metric-driven mindset to your teams, and supporting a relentless focus on the bottom line, with strong financial acumen
