Systems & Network Engineer

What you'll do

• Install, configure, upgrade and maintain business-critical systems and IT assets, from laptops and network equipment to servers and enterprise applications
• Create and manage user accounts across core systems
• Monitor performance and availability, and keep backup and continuity controls working
• Provide 1st and 2nd line support, on-site and remote, across multiple sites
• Manage endpoint security, access control and acceptable use policies
• Run day-to-day systems and network security operations
• Keep the IT asset and systems register accurate, and process requests for new equipment and software
• Report on IT and system performance metrics
• Support the business in meeting security accreditation and compliance frameworks

What you'll bring

• 1 to 3 years' commercial experience in IT, systems or network administration
• Windows, Linux and Mac desktop administration and troubleshooting
• Experience supporting business applications such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Exchange or Google Workspace
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux servers and Active Directory
• Solid networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, wired and wireless
• Proven Tier 1 and Tier 2 support experience
• An understanding of cyber security basics: firewalls, antivirus, email security
• Attention to detail, a self-starter's instinct and clear communication

Desirable (one or more)

• Degree in IT, computer science or information systems
• CompTIA A+, CCNA, AWS SysOps Administrator, CISSP, a Microsoft administrator certification or Azure Administrator Associate
