Senior Machine Learning Engineer in Belfast

I'm working exclusively with a fast-growing Belfast-based AI scaleup to find a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for a genuinely exciting permanent opportunity.

This company is doing impactful work at the intersection of AI and healthcare — building data discovery and analytics solutions that help some of the world's leading life sciences organisations unlock the value of their data to develop better treatments and improve patient outcomes.

The role sits within a collaborative engineering team and offers real scope to contribute across ML systems, cloud infrastructure, MLOps, and foundation models.

What you'll be doing:

• Designing and deploying production-grade ML pipelines and AI systems
• Supporting computer vision and foundation model workflows for medical imaging applications
• Contributing to MLOps practices including model versioning, CI/CD, and observability
• Working across large-scale multimodal datasets — imaging, molecular, and clinical
• Collaborating with scientific and commercial stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions

What we're looking for:

• 3+ years of ML engineering experience
• Strong Python skills with hands-on PyTorch or TensorFlow experience
• Production ML deployment experience in cloud environments, preferably AWS
• Solid understanding of MLOps, containerisation, and scalable system design
• Excellent communication skills — comfortable presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Right to work in the UK or Ireland
