Our client is looking for a Data Engineer who's comfortable working across the full data lifecycle — from raw source systems through transformation, modelling, and into reporting. You'll sit at the intersection of data engineering and analytics, building robust pipelines and models that the wider business can trust and build on. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys both the engineering side (pipelines, transformation, infrastructure) and the analytical side (modelling data in a way that makes it genuinely useful for reporting and decision-making).

What You'll Be Doing

  • Building and maintaining data pipelines that move data from source systems through transformation and into reporting-ready models
  • Designing and implementing data models using dimensional modelling principles (star schemas and similar approaches)
  • Writing ETL/ELT processes using tools such as dbt
  • Working with cloud-based data platforms (e.g. AWS Redshift, S3, Glue, Lambda) to store, process, and serve data at scale
  • Writing production-quality SQL and Python for data transformation and automation
  • Building and maintaining reporting and visualisation solutions in Power BI
  • Working with APIs and system integrations to bring data together from multiple sources
  • Using GitHub (or similar) for version control and collaborative development
  • Contributing to basic CI/CD or deployment processes for data pipelines

What We're Looking For

  • Solid experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms — AWS exposure is particularly valuable (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda), though equivalent experience in Azure or GCP is absolutely transferable
  • Experience with dbt or similar ETL/ELT tools
  • Working knowledge of Python
  • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting/visualisation tools
  • Understanding of dimensional modelling / star schema design
  • Familiarity with version control (GitHub or similar)
  • Comfortable working across the full data journey — not purely engineering, not purely analytics, but somewhere in between
  • Basic exposure to CI/CD or deployment pipelines is a plus

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an ambitious startup who genuinely invest in their employees.
