Our client is building a new Platform Engineering function and are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer with strong observability expertise to help shape its direction from the ground up. This is a role with real ownership and influence; you will design the systems that provide deep insight into the health, performance, and reliability of a rapidly scaling platform. From day one, you’ll work across monitoring, logging, alerting, tracing, and infrastructure-as-code. You’ll collaborate closely with product and platform teams to ensure services are well-instrumented, reliable, and built with operational excellence in mind.
What You’ll Do
- Design, implement, and operate observability systems (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Loki).
- Lead the migration away from legacy monitoring tools.
- Define and roll out monitoring, logging, audit logging, and alerting strategies across cloud infrastructure.
- Build Terraform modules to provision observability and core infrastructure.
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure strong instrumentation and reliability practices.
- Establish and track SLIs/SLOs to guide operational performance.
- Investigate and resolve production issues while driving continuous improvement.
