Job Description

Job Title: Self-employed Psychotherapist (working with Adults and/or Children, Adolescents & Couples)

Location: London, Fulham SW6

**** Applicants MUST be fully qualified and able to work from Fulham, LONDON ****

Please note: Applications from arts, dance or movement therapists will be rejected.

Contract Type: Self-employed

Hours: Part-time, flexible. Must be able to work 4-8pm or 5-9pm at least one evening per week.

Compensation: Competitive (£40-£55 per session with higher rates for couples work)

Role Summary

To provide a high standard of care to our clients through individual or couple therapy sessions in person in Fulham. We ask our therapists to complete psychological risk assessments and to discuss any concerns with the clinical lead and their external supervisor as appropriate. Therapists must be highly experienced, competent and confident at managing their own caseload, working proactively with clients and asking for support where needed. We have a great team in place and therapists can refer to other specialists within the team where necessary. We are not in a position to take on trainee or junior therapists.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Delivering dynamic weekly therapy sessions to Vitus Wellbeing clients (face-to-face in our Fulham location), working ethically and with the clients’ best interests in mind.

Experience, Skills and Knowledge Required for the Role

·       Experience of working with a range of presenting issues – including severe anxiety, stress and depression as a minimum but with a preference for applicants with wider experience/specialisms

·       Experience of working with children/adolescents and/or couples preferred, but not essential

·       Experience of delivering a brief counselling model (6 sessions)

·       Experience of working in CBT preferred

·       Personal experience of therapy is essential, having sought counselling independently (as part of your training or otherwise)

·       Commitment to the mental wellbeing of your clients and willingness to liaise with external professionals (General Practitioners, Psychiatrists etc) as required, including report and letter writing and phone calls

·       Ability to work autonomously carrying out risk assessments on vulnerable clients

·       Competency in using online systems – using online software for video calling, record keeping, appointment booking and emails

·       Ability to work at least one weekday evening per week, seeing a minimum of 8 clients per week. Applicants with the availability for more clients will be prioritised.

·       Ability to work face-to-face in Fulham, London, ESSENTIAL

Qualifications

·       Minimum of a Master's Degree in Counselling / Psychotherapy

·       Must be registered with a professional counselling organisation

·       Commitment to CPD
