We currently have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced HSEQ Advisor to join our team based in Oldmeldrum. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the business by promoting a positive Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality culture whilst ensuring compliance with company procedures, industry standards, client requirements, and relevant legislation.

Purpose of the Role

The HSEQ Advisor will be responsible for providing timely advice, guidance, and support on all matters relating to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) compliance. This includes supporting the implementation and continual improvement of the Company's HSEQ Management System, maintaining compliance with client requirements, and helping to identify, prevent, and mitigate business risks. The role will involve regular engagement with operational teams, conducting site inspections and audits, monitoring competency and training requirements, investigating incidents, and driving continual improvement initiatives across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement HSEQ assurance activities including site inspections, audits, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and statutory legislation.
  • Carry out internal audits in accordance with ISO 9001 and support compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems where applicable.
  • Maintain and monitor training and competency matrices, ensuring mandatory training and refresher courses are completed within required timescales.
  • Support the development, review, and control of HSEQ documentation, ensuring records are accurate, current, and effectively maintained.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, and non-conformances, producing detailed reports and carrying out root cause analysis.
  • Monitor corrective and preventative actions through to completion.
  • Support onboarding processes, including inductions, licence verification, competency checks, and accreditation reviews.
  • Assist operational teams in the preparation and review of risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and safe systems of work.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and drive continuous improvement initiatives across all areas of the business.
  • Liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders on HSEQ-related matters.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in a Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) role.
  • Experience working within the Civil Engineering, Utilities, Power, Energy Infrastructure, or Telecommunications sectors.
  • Experience conducting site inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation and industry best practice.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or IOSH Working Safely.
  • Internal or Lead Auditor qualification.
  • Experience working with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Experience supporting projects within power distribution, utility infrastructure, telecommunications networks, or civil engineering environments.
