About the role

Bunge is seeking an experienced Maintenance Project Engineer to support the delivery of maintenance and reliability-focused capital projects across our operations. In this role, you will help ensure assets are safe, reliable, and performing optimally, while delivering projects from concept through to commissioning and handover. Working within a collaborative engineering and maintenance team, you’ll develop project scopes, manage contractors, and provide technical guidance to drive effective project execution. You’ll work closely with site operations, maintenance teams, and key stakeholders to ensure strong safety, compliance, and quality outcomes, while minimising disruption to production. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys working across a diverse project portfolio and is passionate about improving asset reliability, driving continuous improvement, and delivering sustainable, high-quality engineering solutions.

Duties include:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of maintenance and reliability capital projects from concept through to commissioning and handover.
  • Develop project scopes, technical specifications, budgets, schedules, and risk management plans.
  • Ensure all works are executed safely, with robust contractor management and permit-to-work compliance.
  • Drive a strong safety culture, contributing to a zero-harm work environment.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate safety, operational, and financial risks across the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate closely with operations and maintenance teams to minimise downtime and production impact.
  • Apply engineering standards, project governance, and change management processes.
  • Support asset reliability through root cause analysis and implementation of engineered solutions.
  • Track and report project performance (cost, schedule, scope) and ensure high-quality project documentation and close-out.

About you

  • Project Management qualification (desirable).
  • Engineering qualification or trade background (preferred).
  • Proven experience managing capital or maintenance projects in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with CMMS/EAM systems (preferably Maximo).
  • Knowledge of bulk handling equipment or similar industrial systems.
  • Solid understanding of reliability engineering and asset lifecycle principles.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, proactively, and in a high-pressure environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office and engineering/project tools.
  • Current unrestricted C class driver’s licence.
