Bunge is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Officer to join our HR Operations team. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of payroll operations, with a strong focus on end-of-month processing, reconciliations, compliance and reporting. You will provide technical payroll expertise, support continuous improvement initiatives and act as a key escalation point for complex payroll matters. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys problem solving, working with data and delivering accurate outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Complete end-of-month payroll activities, ensuring payroll runs are finalised, reconciled and processed accurately.
  • Prepare and review payroll tax reporting, month-end deductions and supporting reconciliations.
  • Reconcile payroll clearing accounts and investigate payroll variances and discrepancies.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure payroll-related general ledger accounts are accurately maintained.
  • Process payroll adjustments, back pays, salary changes, allowances, deductions and termination payments.
  • Provide technical payroll support and respond to complex payroll enquiries from employees and stakeholders.
  • Support payroll compliance obligations, including PAYG, Superannuation and Single Touch Payroll reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to payroll process improvements, system enhancements and operational excellence initiatives.

About you:

  • 5-8 years' experience in an Australian payroll role.
  • Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, including PAYG, Superannuation and payroll tax requirements.
  • Experience interpreting awards, enterprise agreements and employment contracts.
  • Proficiency in Chris21 and SAP.
  • Experience with Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting and compliance.
  • Strong reconciliation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to payroll accuracy and compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business.
