About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a lawyer to join our in-house legal team, providing high-quality, timely and commercially focused legal services across the business. Based in our Adelaide office, you will work closely with the General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel, supporting operations across Australia and New Zealand.

This role plays an important part in supporting the business across a broad range of commercial, operational, regulatory and legal matters, contributing to both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations.

Duties

  • Assist in providing commercially oriented legal advice across a variety of business contracts.
  • Support in drafting commercial agreements, including leases and licenses.
  • Advise on day-to-day legal and operational issues as they arise.
  • Assist with managing insurance matters for Australia and New Zealand.
  • Support the team in managing litigation, alternative dispute resolution, and debt recovery actions to secure favourable outcomes.
  • Coordinate with external legal advisors to support business needs.
  • Monitor legislative changes and support legal compliance training.
  • Participate in cross-business internal projects, gaining exposure to different areas of the business.

About you

  • Tertiary qualified in law
  • Admitted to practice as a Solicitor in South Australia
  • Up to 5 years’ post-admission experience or equivalent capability
  • Experience or exposure to commercial, corporate, property, litigation or regulatory matters.
  • Ability to understand and respond to the commercial drivers behind business decisions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders, regulators and external advisers.
  • Motivated, proactive and able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to adapt legal skills across new areas of practice and maintain up-to-date legal knowledge through CPD.
  • Familiarity with technology and an interest in how AI and digital tools can support legal service delivery.
  • Experience with insurance matters, construction-related contracts or in-house environments will be well regarded.
