About the role

Bunge is seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer to manage the successful delivery of engineering projects across our operations. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering projects safely, on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards, while also providing broader engineering support to the business. Working within a collaborative engineering team, you will lead multiple civil and structural projects, manage contractors, and contribute to design, investigation, and asset planning activities. You’ll play a key role in driving a strong safety culture, supporting operational teams, and ensuring practical, high-quality engineering outcomes across brownfield and operational environments. This role suits a hands-on engineer who enjoys project delivery, technical problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Duties include:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of civil and structural engineering projects from planning through to completion.
  • Monitor and manage project performance against budget, schedule, and scope.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure quality, progress, and compliance with standards.
  • Manage contractors, contracts, and specifications to ensure safe and effective execution of works.
  • Drive a strong safety culture, including permit-to-work processes, risk assessments, and incident management.
  • Manage project variations, including costings, approvals, and documentation updates.
  • Provide clear and timely project reporting, escalating risks and issues as required.
  • Deliver technical design, investigations, and engineering support while contributing to asset planning and stakeholder engagement.

About you

  • Degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural or similar recognised by Engineers Australia).
  • Experience in a similar project engineering role within an industrial environment.
  • Project and contractor management experience, including delivery of civil/structural works.
  • Experience preparing and managing contracts, scopes, and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian and international engineering standards.
  • Experience working in brownfield environments and SIMOPs (SIMultaneous OPerations).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar desired, and strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities under pressure.
  • Current unrestricted C class driver’s licence.
