Purpose of Position: The Electronics Engineer designs, develops and maintains high-voltage PCB systems to support perimeter detection and access control solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Design, develop, maintain and test printed circuit boards (PCB) using Altium Designer.
- Specialize in high-voltage PCB designs (1-10KV) ensuring reliability and compliance with safety standards.
- Develop and troubleshoot perimeter detection and access control systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of electronic systems.
- Perform testing, verification, and validation of electronic components and assemblies.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including schematics, bill of materials, and layout drawings.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues during the design and production phases.
- Export design files in formats ready to be sent directly to electronics manufacturers.
- Liaise with electronics manufacturers regarding production issues and technical problems.
We are looking for an Electronics Engineer to join our innovative team.
Profile: This role requires extensive experience in PCB design, especially involving high-voltage systems (1-10KV), audio analogue systems, RS485 communication protocols. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Altium PCB design, general PCB design skills, and demonstrate competencies in microelectronics. Proficiency in Microchip firmware development and programming languages such as Java, C, and C# will be considered a significant advantage.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 3-5 years practical experience in electronics engineering, specifically PCB design and high-voltage systems.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in Altium Designer for PCB layout and schematic capture and documentation.
- Strong understanding of PCB design principles and practices.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing high-voltage electronics (1-10KV).
- Experience with RS485 and Ethernet communication standards and interfaces.
- Experience with microcontroller-based system design.
- Solid understanding of analogue and digital electronic circuit design.
- Knowledge of EMC/EMI requirements and mitigation techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent documentation and technical writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Place of work: Based in Coventry
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week (8.30am to 5.00pm from Monday to Friday - 30 min lunch break)
