About The Role

Team – R&D Lab

Working Pattern - Hybrid – 2 days per week in either the Vitality London or Bournemouth office. Full time hours. 6 Months Fixed Term Contract

What this role is all about:

Global Enterprise brings together R&D, experience design, and technology delivery into an integrated structure that is mirrored across markets and governed to a consistent global standard. By doing this, we aim to advance and deploy the IP in Vitality’s Shared-Value Insurance proposition more rapidly and effectively.

The Strategic Projects Analyst supports the Enterprise Executive in achieving strategic objectives in ambiguous environments. They operate at tactical, strategic, and operational levels, often overseeing projects that don't fit neatly within the organizational chart or fall between departments. Their responsibilities may overlap with specific functional leads but are more nimble in addressing timely business needs or gaps.

Key Actions:

  • Translate the technical workings of the functions within Enterprise into compelling strategic narratives to share with key stakeholders and Executive Committees.
  • Build presentations and write papers to communicate these narratives.
  • Co-ordinate the Enterprise Operating Forum and drive actions with the members of the committee.
  • Participate actively with the executive group in shaping strategy and direction.
  • Support the employee communications and engagement strategy for Enterprise including drafting communications, organising events and preparing the Enterprise Executive for employee engagements.
  • Administration including scheduling high priority meetings, planning and executing strategy sessions, taking meeting minutes and following up on meeting actions.
  • Reporting including preparing and coordination of board materials, creating, updating and reviewing dashboards, reviewing regular Enterprise reports.
  • Project management including working with teams across Enterprise to ensure timely delivery of strategic initiatives.
  • Analysis, research, evaluation and data gathering to support decision making and unlock interesting insights.
  • Completion and coordination of strategic projects in a highly collaborative fashion with other teams across Enterprise.

What do you need to thrive?

  • Sophisticated written and verbal communication skills for executive-level internal and external delivery.
  • Degree educated preferably with a numerate degree or management-focused qualification.
  • Capable of working under pressure, using own initiative and with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and continuous change.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with impact across divisions and teams at all levels, and with external parties.
  • Ability to deal with complex issues, as well as migrate between detail and high level requirements.
  • Excellent knowledge of IT software packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Must have ability to operate on many levels, from doing menial tasks through to detailed analysis and understanding of operational, HR and financial topics.
  • Must have an ability to turn strategic intent into actual deliverables within quick turnaround time.
