What this role is all about:
As a Product Manager within our Enterprise Product team, you'll play a key role in shaping and delivering exceptional customer experiences across our Underwriting journey. Working within a cross-functional environment, you'll define and execute product roadmaps, translate customer and business needs into innovative solutions, and drive delivery through agile ways of working. You'll be responsible for identifying opportunities to improve customer outcomes, collaborating with stakeholders across the business, and ensuring products deliver measurable value aligned to Vitality's strategic ambitions. Key Actions:
- Define and deliver the medium to long-term product strategy for a complex customer journey, balancing customer value, commercial outcomes and strategic business objectives.
- Own and continuously evolve the product roadmap and backlog, ensuring priorities are aligned to customer needs, business goals and delivery capability.
- Lead product discovery, research and ideation activities, using customer insight, data analysis and stakeholder engagement to identify opportunities and shape future solutions.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams through the product development lifecycle, working closely with engineering, design, research and business stakeholders to bring ideas to market.
- Act as the voice of the customer throughout delivery, ensuring all features and enhancements contribute to an outstanding customer experience.
- Lead the planning and delivery of journey epics, managing dependencies, risks, costs and priorities across multiple initiatives within an agile environment.
- Translate business and customer requirements into clear product features, story maps and user stories with robust acceptance criteria and supporting documentation.
- Use performance metrics, analytics and customer feedback to evaluate product effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Drive process optimisation across customer journeys by identifying inefficiencies, reducing waste and improving operational and customer outcomes.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities to ensure products remain innovative, relevant and commercially effective.
What do you need to thrive:
- Degree educated or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrable experience managing complex product roadmaps and backlogs within a digital or technology-led environment.
- Strong experience working within Agile delivery frameworks and cross-functional product teams.
- Ability to lead workshops, facilitate discussions and drive alignment across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data and customer insight to inform decision making.
- Experience creating product documentation including features, user stories, acceptance criteria and supporting artefacts.
- Proven ability to balance customer value, commercial priorities and delivery considerations.
- Passion for improving customer experiences and championing customer needs throughout the product lifecycle.
- Collaborative approach with experience working alongside engineering, UX, research and business teams to deliver successful outcomes.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to assess value, trade-offs, risks and benefits when making product decisions.
- Experience using tools such as Jira, Aha or similar product management platforms would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of digital analytics, conversion optimisation, customer journey mapping or modern web technologies would be beneficial.
- Scrum Product Owner certification or related Agile qualifications would be advantageous.
