Job Description

About The RoleTeam – SourcingWorking Pattern – Hybrid – 2 days per week in the Vitality Bournemouth Office. Full time, 35 hours per week. We are happy to discuss flexible working!Top 3 skills needed for this role:

What this role is all about:Join our dynamic Sourcing team and take the lead in shaping how Vitality partners with the market. As a Sourcing Business Partner (Business Services), you’ll own the end-to-end sourcing and supplier strategy for our People function. This will cover Human Resources and Property/Facilities, delivering solutions that drive value, innovation, and impact. From identifying and onboarding the right partners to managing supplier relationships and optimising spend across key categories, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring Vitality gets the best from its partnerships.Key ActionsSourcing / Category Management

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to define category focused sourcing strategies
  • Meet sourcing and business objectives in terms of assurance of supply, quality, service performance, cost, innovation and regulatory compliance
  • Identify and deliver value through spend reduction opportunities, supplier consolidation and value adding activities
  • Utilise existing knowledge and conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, define the preferred sourcing solution and manage any competitive (RFI/RFP) exercises to meet business and commercial requirements
  • Negotiate the best deals possible with short-listed suppliers to achieve the best value for Vitality
  • Draft and implement robust contracts and service schedules with selected suppliers in order to maximise business value
  • Mitigate risk with supplier onboarding and liaise with Legal as required

Supplier Management

  • Provide effective management of supplier relationships within Vitality’s defined supplier management framework, managing all associated risk and compliance activities, driving post contract value and stakeholder management
  • Act as an escalation point for issues with suppliers and support the business in the resolution of issues

Contract Management

  • Effectively manage a portfolio of contracts via the Contract Lifecycle Management process. Identify efficiency improvements and cost savings, whilst enabling the business to maintain required service levels and mitigate risk

What do you need to thrive?

  • Possess specific knowledge within one or more sourcing categories
  • Have a proven track record in a sourcing environment, with a history of savings delivery
  • Have impressive experience of negotiations with suppliers to deliver value and mitigate contractual risk
  • Show a broad understanding of contract drafting, service definition, performance and commercial structures
  • Have a proven record of effective category management, demonstrating the implementation of sourcing strategy, supplier rationalisation and supplier innovation
  • Show a strong understanding of supplier management, including analysis to mitigate risk through contingency planning, and driving initiatives to seek greater performance
  • Be able to communicate, influence, and network with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally
