About The RoleTeam – Underwriting & Claims – LifeWorking Pattern – Remote role. Full time, 37.5 hours per week. We are happy to discuss flexible working!Top 3 skills needed for this role:

What this role is all about:Are you passionate about ensuring excellence in underwriting and making a real impact on business quality? In this role you'll deliver a post issue underwriting audit programme of policies, automatically accepted through VitalityLife's underwriting engine to determine the accuracy of application disclosures.Additional responsibilities may involve underwriting quality audits, retrospective underwriting of claims and underwriting philosophy training.Collaboration is essential – you'll build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business. Key Actions
- Ensure a robust post issue underwriting non-disclosure QA is conducted to maximise value and work with key stakeholders to drive the programme forward.
- Analyse data collected and consider and recommend areas for improvements or change.
- Ensure post issue communications are sound and evidence collation appropriate.
- Support in the training and development of distribution by identifying and reporting on trends where non-disclosure could be improved upon.
- Consider and recommend areas for improvements or changes in the data gathered to ensure an effective audit process and data analysis is maintained.
- Liaise with the Automated Underwriting Team and provide recommendations on where improvements to question sets and/or underwriting philosophy can be made.Â
- Take responsibility for keeping up to date with changes to underwriting philosophy and processes, underwriting systems, reinsurance manuals and internal guidelines.
- Support the retrospective underwriting of claims assessments.
- Support the Internal underwriting QA programme. •Attendance of underwriting related industry meetings and seminars.

- Substantial experience at a senior underwriter level with in-depth medical and financial knowledge in respect of Life cover, Serious Illness and Income Protection.
- Good working knowledge of regulatory procedures/requirements within the industry
- A proactive mindset, always looking for ways to improve, innovate and add value
- A sharp eye for detail and quality
