About The Role Team – Everyday Care Working Pattern – Hybrid – 2 days per week in the Vitality London Office. Full time, 37.5 hours per week. We are happy to discuss flexible working! Top 3 skills needed for this role: Understanding of UK health systems Qualified medical doctor (UK qualification only) Private sector healthcare experience – 2 years minimumWhat this role is all about: To provide strategic leadership as well as clinical and operational expertise to transform the end to end member journey from prevention and health improvement through primary and secondary care services and back into rehabilitation. This will include the transformation and optimisation of current member care journeys that are offered to our members, including (but not limited to) health improvement journeys in the Vitality programme, every day care journeys, secondary care journeys and rehabilitation journeys. This includes designing new workflows and clinical pathways where required and serving as a key clinical point of contact for providers, attending and overseeing clinical governance and quality activities. In addition, the Medical Director will provide strategic leadership to advance the development of new pathways and partners to be offered to our members, including (but not limited to) health improvement journeys as part of personal health pathways, primary care journeys including GP, diagnostics, mental health and physiotherapy, secondary care journeys including networks and consultants, and rehabilitation journeys including returning to Vitality programme journeys. Key Actions Strategic leadership of the development of the member care proposition within the business Transformation and optimisation of current care journeys that are offered to our members Work with and advance development and design teams on pathway design, ensuring all member journeys are clinically safe and achieve excellent clinical outcomes for our members. Develop and advance new and existing operations workflow design to ensure seamless, integrated, clinically safe member journeys are created and appropriate escalation points are identified and accounted for. Advance the development of new pathways and partners to be offered to our members Support and manage the writing, editing, documenting, and publishing of clinical content where appropriate, ensuring accuracy from a clinical perspective. Representing Vitality at external conferences and events, building our global reputation for innovative provision of healthcare to our members. Advance clinical due diligence of new and potential partners, including reviewing their offerings and processes. Provide leadership and expertise to support the development and delivery of excellent care services within Vitality’s comprehensive care offering, with a focus on integrated clinical, operational, governance and financial performance. Advance clinical governance and quality meetings across care partners. What do you need to thrive? Medically qualified, GMC registered (desirable). At least 10 years healthcare or health sector experience, ideally as a practicing physician. Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare and health insurance systems. Demonstrable interest or experience in one or more of the following value based care, digital health, digital transformation, clinical care delivery. Can demonstrate strong and successful track record of cross-functional working ideally in a large, matrixed organisation, and evidence of ability to build and sustain effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Has proven understanding of UK health regulatory environment, clinical governance and audit processes and practices and quality measures in primary care. Experience with project or programme management. PC literate with excellent knowledge of Word, PowerPoint Excel applications.
