About The Role

Team – Actuarial - Life

Working Pattern - Hybrid – 2 days per week in the Vitality London Office. Full time, 37.5 hours per week. We are happy to discuss flexible working!

What this role is all about:

We are looking for an Actuarial Manager to join the Life Prophet Modelling team, playing a key role in the development, maintenance and enhancement of Vitality's actuarial modelling capability. This position is responsible for ensuring Prophet models remain robust, accurate and fit for purpose, supporting financial reporting, valuation, capital and pricing activities while contributing to the ongoing evolution of actuarial modelling across the business.

Key Actions:

  • Develop, maintain and enhance actuarial models using Prophet Enterprise and Prophet Professional
  • Support the end-to-end model development lifecycle including testing, governance, deployment and production releases
  • Translate business requirements into technical modelling specifications and solutions
  • Enhance models to meet regulatory requirements and evolving business needs
  • Identify and implement automation and efficiency improvements to actuarial processes and model performance
  • Perform model validation and testing to ensure reliability, accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Maintain robust model governance, documentation and change control standards
  • Collaborate with actuarial, finance, technology and wider business teams to integrate modelling solutions
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on model development priorities and best practice
  • Support internal and external audit activities relating to actuarial modelling and valuations

What do you need to thrive?

  • Qualified Actuary or Senior Actuarial Student
  • Expert knowledge and practical experience of Prophet modelling and development
  • In-depth experience of actuarial valuations including IFRS17 and Solvency II
  • Experience developing and enhancing actuarial models to support valuation efficiency and new functionality
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical model solutions
  • Strong understanding of actuarial modelling best practice, governance and controls
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a range of stakeholders
  • Experience collaborating effectively across multiple teams and business functions
  • Ability to work under pressure within a fast paced and changing environment
  • Experience engaging with auditors and external actuarial partners
