What this role is all about:

We are looking for a commercially minded and data-driven Procurement Performance Specialist, on a 12-month FTC, to support the delivery of value, performance, and strategic outcomes across the Procurement function. Working closely with the Head of Procurement Operations, this role is focused on analysing performance, leading sourcing initiatives, and driving continuous improvement to maximise supplier value and optimise cost. The position plays a key role in shaping procurement strategy, enhancing supplier performance, and partnering with stakeholders across the business to deliver measurable impact and long-term value.

Key Actions:

  • Work closely with the Head of Procurement Operations to assist on the delivery of key strategic projects for the Procurement department, liaising with key business functions such as Risk and Audit
  • Leading on the Procurement team’s strategy and governance framework, through organisation of key committees and forums, and driving the actions and results from those
  • Manage the performance targets of the Procurement team, through the regular measurement of performance against set objectives
  • Utilisation of data to monitor these targets to understand current performance and trends
  • Driving forward continuous enhancements and improvements to demand increased performance
  • Identify and deliver value through spend reduction opportunities, supplier consolidation and value adding activities
  • Utilise existing knowledge and conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, define the preferred sourcing solution and manage any competitive (RFI/RFP) exercises to meet business and commercial requirements, and negotiate the best deals possible with short-listed suppliers to achieve the best value for Vitality
  • Supporting Supplier Management best practice across the organisation through management of our supplier management framework to ultimately seek further value from our third-party engagements

  • Possess a great attention to detail and a strong desire to seek ways to deliver continuous improvement
  • Have a proven track record in a sourcing environment, delivering key projects for stakeholders
  • Show a broad understanding of contract drafting, service definition, performance and commercial structures
  • Show a strong understanding of supplier management, including analysis to mitigate risk through contingency planning, and driving initiatives to seek greater performance
