As a trusted expert, you’ll communicate clearly, support data science delivery, coach others, and continuously explore new ways to improve our technology and bring fresh data into the organisation.

  • Use a range of languages and tools to build and manage robust data pipelines across multiple systems.
  • Contribute to key decisions that drive a strong, outcome‑focused (SWAT) approach.
  • Explore new opportunities to bring in data and unlock more value from what we already have.
  • Collaborate with Data Science, Analytics, Architecture and wider tech teams to design, build, test and maintain scalable data environments.
  • Understand GDPR principles and confidently raise any concerns where needed.
  • Show genuine curiosity for new technologies and a strong interest in the Vitality business.
  • Support and mentor fellow Data Engineers to help the team grow.
  • Listen actively to both technical and business needs, and communicate complex ideas in a clear, accessible way.
