What this role is all about:
The purpose of the HR Business Partner is to provide an exceptional HR service to a portfolio of business areas in a commercial and fast-paced environment. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, including the Executive team members for your business areas. You will build strong and effective relationships with your stakeholders, becoming a trusted advisor on all people matters. You will identify and anticipate business needs and ensure people solutions are in place to address them, engaging relevant specialist areas within the people function where required.
You will act as a conduit between your partner areasβ leadership teams and the People function. You will provide both operational support, such as overseeing complex employee relations issues, ensuring people risks and regulatory obligations are met, and assisting with senior level recruitment, as well as strategic support, including driving future workforce planning and advising your stakeholders and the People Leadership team on people initiatives that will enhance performance and customer service in your business areas.
As a senior member of the people team, you will be responsible for the delivery of People Plan initiatives including those specific to your business area as well as group-wide initiatives.
Key Actions:
- Workforce Planning: Lead initiatives on future workforce and organisational needs for assigned business areas, including organisation and role design.
- Coaching and guidance of leadership teams: Build strong and trusting relationships with assigned leadership teams up to Executive level, providing coaching and guidance as needed on all aspects of people management.
- Employee Relations: Manage or oversee complex and sensitive HR / ER cases, ensuring compliance, evaluating and mitigating risk and balancing these with business needs.
- Data-Driven Insights: Analyse people data to identify trends, inform decisions, and present actionable recommendations to improve engagement and employee experience.
- Project Delivery: Lead and support assigned elements of People Plan initiatives and HR projects from concept to completion, including change management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Recruitment, L&D, Talent, and Engagement teams to design, implement and embed innovative HR solutions and act as an ambassador for the People team and the Company Values at all times.
- Culture & Engagement: Champion company values, drive engagement initiatives, and support strategies to attract and retain top talent.
- Operational Support: Provide leadership and guidance to assigned business areas for key people policies and processes e.g. reward, senior-level recruitment, ensuring policy and regulatory obligations are met and signposting to other people teams as appropriate.
What do you need to thrive?
- Experience of operating as an HR Business partner working closely with aligned senior leadership teams in a fast-paced and commercial environment.
- Up to date employment law knowledge, hold a degree level education or equivalent experience, and be CIPD qualified.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of complex ER issues.
- Experience of managing complex people initiatives across the employee lifecycle.
- Excellent stakeholder management experience.
- Experience in a fast growth environment would be desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders up to and including executive level.
- Strong data analytical skills with an attention to detail.
- Ability to produce and present HR business proposals.
- Proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
