Overview
As a Digital Platforms Engineer in Platform Engineering, you will build, support and improve infrastructure powering Vitality’s digital applications. You’ll operate across cloud, on-premises, and DevOps domains to drive automation, resilience and scalability. You’ll participate in platform upgrades and re-platforming efforts, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable services. This role offers scope to influence cloud strategy and tooling in a well-regarded, purpose-driven business.

Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain resilient infrastructure and platform services across AWS, GCP and related environments to meet enterprise needs
- Automate provisioning, configuration and management of infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible and IaC practices
- Provide day-to-day engineering support across development, testing and production environments
- Investigate and resolve complex platform and infrastructure issues on Windows and Linux servers, databases and cloud services
- Maintain and enhance the DevOps toolchain, including access management, upgrades, deployment tooling, monitoring and CI/CD services
- Manage platform components such as certificates, API gateways, routing and reverse proxy configurations
- Coordinate server and application patching to keep technologies secure and supported
- Collaborate with development, network and infrastructure teams and third-party providers to implement platform changes
- Identify opportunities to automate manual activities and contribute to platform technology roadmaps
Key requirements
- Proven experience building, supporting and troubleshooting highly available enterprise infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP or other major cloud platforms, plus Windows and Linux environments
- Strong experience with Terraform, Ansible or similar IaC and automation tools
- Understanding of scalable and resilient engineering practices (auto-scaling, automated failover)
- Experience supporting DevOps toolchains and CI/CD, with exposure to containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical teams and external providers
