What this role is all about
We're looking for a Digital Platforms Engineer to build, support and continuously improve the infrastructure powering Vitality's digital applications. You'll work across cloud, on-premise and DevOps technologies, driving automation, resilience and scalability while playing a key role in platform upgrades and re-platforming initiatives.
Key Actions Design, build and support resilient infrastructure and platform services across AWS, GCP and wider digital environments, ensuring they meet the availability, scalability and operational needs of enterprise applications
Automate the provisioning, configuration and management of infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible and Infrastructure as Code practices to improve consistency, repeatability and deployment speed
Provide day-to-day engineering support across development, test and production environments, balancing planned sprint commitments with incidents, service requests and wider operational priorities
Investigate and resolve complex platform and infrastructure issues involving Windows and Linux servers, databases, application servers, server scripting and supporting cloud services
Maintain and improve the DevOps toolchain, including access management, platform upgrades, deployment tooling, monitoring capabilities and CI/CD services used by technical teams
Manage essential platform components including certificates, API gateways, routing and reverse proxy configurations to maintain secure and reliable communication between applications and services
Coordinate server and application patching across the digital environment, ensuring technologies remain secure, supported and aligned with cloud and infrastructure best practices
