About The Role
Working Pattern - Hybrid 2 days per week in the Vitality Stockport Office. Full time, 35 hours per week. 6 months fixed term contract. We are happy to discuss flexible working!

What this role is all about:
As an HR Advisor, you'll be a trusted expert, offering clear, supportive and proactive guidance to managers and employees across every stage of the employee life cycle. Working closely with HR Business Partners, HR Operations and wider People teams, you'll build strong relationships with stakeholders and become a go-to specialist for all things people-related. As an ambassador for both the People function and our Company Values, you'll embody our culture in everything you do. You'll enjoy the variety and flexibility of supporting teams across Vitality, adapting to business needs and contributing to a positive, people-focused workplace.
Key Actions:
- Be the first point of contact for advice and coaching for managers on the implementation of all aspects of the HR lifecycle, ensuring queries are resolved and guidance is given in line with our policies, processes, best practice employment law and Vitality's values.
- Guide, advise and support managers on individual employee relation cases, including investigations, disciplinary, capability, grievance and flexible working. Attend formal meetings where appropriate and escalate higher risk or complex cases as appropriate to the HR Business Partner.
- Work closely with the HR Business Partner to prepare materials and responses for employment tribunal cases, working alongside our legal advisers as needed.
- Support the HR Business Partner with key BAU people processes and activities, such as annual salary review, bonus calibration and implementation, interim increase process and annual benefits renewal.
- Be a point of escalation for the HR Operations team so that complex or challenging queries are resolved satisfactorily and without delay.
- Assist in the delivery of all change management initiatives necessary to support the transformation and growth of our organisation.
- Build effective and trusted working relationships with people managers in their aligned area of support.
- Develop employee policies and guidance as required and identify opportunities for continuously improving our policies, processes and guidance.
- Promote diversity and inclusion initiatives, highlighting any issues as appropriate.
- Support the HR Business Partner with the production of people data analysis packs to share with stakeholders.
- Undertake wider people team projects as and when required.
What do you need to thrive?
- Experience of working at HR Advisor level
- CIPD qualified or experienced to similar level
- Up to date employment law knowledge with experience of dealing with a full range of ER issues
- Excellent stakeholder management experience
- Experience in a fast growth environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence front line managers
- Strong data analytical skills with an attention to detail
- Strong written communication skills (letter/report writing ability)
- Intermediate Excel skills
