Team Clinical Leadership team
Working Pattern - Hybrid 2 days per week in either the Vitality London or Bournemouth offices. Full time hours. We are happy to discuss flexible working!

What this role is all about:
Are you a clinician looking to use your skills in a different way? Vitality offers an exciting opportunity for a healthcare professional to join our team. This role is ideal for a doctor with a broad medical background, preferably in oncology, a nurse specialist, or a pharmacist with strong research experience. However, we welcome applicants with a solid understanding of clinical research, policy-based decision-making, and stakeholder communication.
Supporting the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director, you'll help drive evidence-based funding decisions, promote sustainable healthcare, and encourage clinical innovation. The role requires balancing complex information with fiscal responsibility to ensure members receive high-quality, innovative care, while independently evaluating clinical evidence, member and provider input, and insurance policy terms.
Key Actions:
- Develop new policies, conduct horizon scanning, understand emerging therapies and their impact on the claims fund, and maintain direct contact with external experts to gather insights and input on treatments.
- Proactively update clinical guidance, ensuring alignment with changing regulatory, clinical, and environmental trends.
- Act as a subject matter expert to support the claims management function with a focus on complex case management which may include representing Vitality in provider discussions.
- Identify opportunities and gaps in current processes and care pathways, and lead strategic initiatives aligned to delivering better value and health outcomes for our members.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Risk and QA departments to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Provide clinical and scientific input on business content, including marketing and promotional activities.
- Lead with a customer-focused mindset to support implementation of new technologies, products, and other initiatives.
- Deliver continuous learning and development initiatives across the business.
- Contribute to the publication of Vitality data and thought leadership to promote clinical excellence.

- You will need to hold a healthcare or life sciences qualification or very strong work experience in the absence of this.
- Excellent and clear communications skills with the ability to influence widely.
- Deep understanding of critical appraisal.
- Ability to work with ambiguity, at pace, and across multiple projects.
