About The Role
Team Underwriting & Claims
Working Pattern –Remote/Home based or any of our Vitality offices (London, Bournemouth or Stockport). Full time, 37.5 hours per week.

What this role is all about:
To implement VitalityLifes High Net Worth (HNW) underwriting proposition so that we develop a market-leading reputation for underwriting delivery, innovation and excellence.
Key Actions
- Underwrite complex High Net Worth (HNW) cases to the highest financial and medical standards, ensuring accuracy, quality, and excellent client outcomes.
- Partner closely with brokers and advisers to guide large cases smoothly through the underwriting journey, offering clarity, confidence, and expert support.
- Collaborate with reinsurers to secure successful placement of business and maintain strong, credible working relationships.
- Work with sales teams to develop tailored financial underwriting solutions for key clients and unique case requirements.
- Educate and upskill internal sales teams on the HNW underwriting process to ensure consistency, understanding, and strong case management.
- Mentor and support less experienced underwriters, contributing to a high-performing and collaborative underwriting function.
- Identify opportunities to enhance and evolve the HNW underwriting proposition, helping shape a market-leading offering.

- Extensive experience underwriting large or complex HNW cases, with strong financial and medical underwriting knowledge.
- The confidence and credibility to build strong relationships with advisers, brokers, and reinsurers.
- A solutions-focused mindset with the ability to tackle complex problems and think creatively about risk.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, able to guide stakeholders through challenging decisions or cases.
- Proven ability to mentor others and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Comfort working independently and making informed decisions, while also collaborating effectively across teams.
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the organisational skills required to manage high-value cases with precision.
