Working Pattern - Remote/Home based. Full time, 37.5 hours per week. We are happy to discuss flexible working!
Primary function will be to deliver a post issue underwriting audit programme of policies automatically accepted through VitalityLife's underwriting engine to determine the accuracy of application disclosures. Additionally, responsibilities will include some involvement in the BAU new business underwriting quality audit and the retrospective underwriting of claims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review monthly random and targeted samples of automated underwriting system decisions, completing findings on the post-issue audit log and issuing a monthly summary report.
- Ascertain the non-disclosure rate of policies across each distribution channel, supporting training and development by identifying and reporting trends where non-disclosure can be improved.
- Liaise with the Automated Underwriting Team to recommend improvements to question sets and/or underwriting philosophy and suggest enhancements to data collection to maintain an effective audit process.
- Report Operational Risks promptly to the Head of Underwriting Quality, discussing mitigation actions, and stay up to date with changes to underwriting philosophy, processes, systems, reinsurance manuals and internal guidelines.
- Provide new business underwriting audits as required and support retrospective underwriting of claims.
Experience:
- Experience at a senior underwriter level with in-depth medical and financial knowledge in respect of Life cover, Serious Illness and Income Protection.
- Good working knowledge of regulatory procedures/requirements within the industry.
- Relevant medical or underwriting qualifications.
