About The Role

Team: Data Science and AI

Working Pattern: Hybrid, 2 days per week in the Vitality London Office. Full time, 37.5 hours per week. We are happy to discuss flexible working!

What this role is all about:

We are looking for an Associate Data Scientist (AI Engineer) to help develop and deliver AI solutions across the insurance value chain. Working as part of a growing Data Science team, you'll collaborate with data scientists, engineers and business stakeholders to build machine learning models, GenAI applications, AI assistants and customer-facing tools. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of AI initiatives, develop practical experience in deploying solutions at scale and contribute to projects that create measurable impact across the business.

Key Actions:

  • Contribute to gathering and defining requirements for new AI solutions
  • Design, build and deploy AI-driven applications across the insurance value chain
  • Develop machine learning and Generative AI models to address business challenges
  • Support the delivery of AI Assistants, RAG solutions and voice-enabled platforms
  • Collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, architects and business stakeholders
  • Integrate AI applications with enterprise systems and cloud-based technologies
  • Optimise models and applications for performance, scalability and cost efficiency
  • Develop, test and maintain solutions using Python and modern AI frameworks
  • Research emerging AI technologies and apply relevant innovations to business use cases
  • Work closely with senior data scientists to support project delivery and professional development
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of AI engineering standards and best practices
  • Support the deployment and monitoring of AI applications on Google Cloud Platform
