About The Role
Team: Actuarial-Life
Working Pattern: Hybrid, 2 days per week in the Vitality London Office. Full time, 37.5 hours per week. We are happy to discuss flexible working!

What this role is all about:
As part of the Life Actuarial team, the Actuarial Analyst plays a key role in supporting the delivery of actuarial reporting, modelling, capital management and experience analysis across Vitality's life insurance business. Working within a collaborative and highly analytical environment, this position offers exposure to IFRS17 valuations, Solvency II reporting, assumption setting and Prophet modelling, providing an excellent opportunity to develop actuarial expertise while contributing to business-critical decision making.
Key Actions:
- Support actuarial valuations and reporting across IFRS17, Solvency II and Embedded Value frameworks, helping to deliver accurate and timely financial and regulatory outputs
- Conduct regular experience analysis, including investigations into claims, lapses and other key drivers of business performance, providing insight to support assumption setting and business decision-making
- Develop, maintain and enhance actuarial models, while supporting model point creation, data preparation and validation activities across a range of reporting and analytical processes
- Prepare actuarial reports, management information and financial analysis, ensuring outputs are clearly documented, thoroughly reviewed and fit for stakeholder use
- Analyse and interpret complex datasets, carrying out reasonableness checks and identifying trends, anomalies and opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Life Actuarial team and wider business functions, communicating findings and supporting the successful delivery of actuarial and strategic projects
- Apply actuarial control cycle principles across data, modelling and reporting activities, maintaining high standards of governance, accuracy and professional practice
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while developing technical expertise and progressing towards a professional actuarial qualification
What do you need to thrive?
- Working towards an actuarial qualification with membership of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or equivalent
- A degree in Mathematics, Statistics or a related numerical discipline
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify meaningful insights
- Good knowledge of Excel and confidence working with large datasets and actuarial calculations
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to a range of stakeholders
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build positive working relationships across teams
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn, develop new skills and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
