Vitalis are recruiting for an experienced Social Care Worker to work in a Children with Disabilities Team in Rochdale Council.
We are looking for candidates who have experience of working with children and young people with disabilities, complex health needs and additional vulnerabilities, alongside their families and carers. You will understand the unique challenges and strengths within families caring for children with disabilities and be committed to promoting inclusion, independence and positive outcomes.
You will be skilled in building trusting relationships with children who may communicate in different ways, ensuring their voice, wishes and feelings are understood and influence planning and decision-making. Experience of undertaking direct work, coordinating multi-agency support and advocating for children and families within education, health and social care systems is highly desirable
The successful candidate will be compassionate, resilient and solution-focused, with a strong understanding of safeguarding disabled children, child development, transitions to adulthood and the importance of supporting families to build on their strengths and improve resilience.
