About the Role
Our Paint Team is expanding and we are looking for 2 candidates who are experienced in automotive refinishing preferably within a prototype or custom automotive environment. You should be competent in surface prep, painting and finishing and able to work as part of a dynamic team. Engagement will initially be on a contract basis with a strong view to a permanent position for the right candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by thoroughly cleaning, masking, sanding, and priming, ensuring optimal adhesion and uniform finishes.
- Execute precise paint application techniques, maintaining consistency and accuracy across multiple projects.
- Apply finishing processes, including buffing and polishing, to achieve a flawless final appearance that meets or exceeds quality benchmarks.
- Adhere to industry safety standards and best practices, managing hazardous materials responsibly and maintaining a clean, orderly workspace.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) in automotive painting, preferably within a prototype or custom automotive environment.
- Proficiency in surface prep, paint mixing, spray application, and finish detailing.
- Commitment to quality control, precision, and process improvement, demonstrated by consistently excellent refinishing results.
- Familiarity with safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE), and environmental compliance standards related to automotive refinishing.
Qualifications
- Practical experience with paint application and painting techniques.
- Knowledge of quality control processes in relation to painting and finishing.
- Attention to detail, precision, and ability to maintain consistency.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Experience with prototype vehicle development is an advantage.
- Technical certification in automotive painting or bodywork is preferred.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations relating to painting processes.
