We’re looking for experienced Prototype Hard Modellers to create high-quality physical prototypes. From intricate design models to full-size working demonstrators and show vehicles, you’ll bring a diverse range of concepts to life through precision craftsmanship and exceptional finishing.
This is a project-based role where quality and meeting deadlines are essential. Flexibility to work overtime will be required when project timelines are tight.
Key Responsibilities:
Main responsibilities
- Build and finish physical prototypes, design models, full-size demonstrators and bespoke models across a variety of sectors.
- Carry out armature construction, blocking up, detailed hard modelling and final finishing.
- Deliver A-class surfacing and finishing to meet project specifications and applicable industry standards.
- Interpret CAD drawings and translate design requirements into accurate physical models.
- Adapt modelling techniques to suit the requirements of aerospace, future transport, automotive and bespoke projects.
- Work closely with designers, engineers and project teams to resolve technical challenges and deliver projects on time.
- Maintain consistent quality and attention to detail throughout each build.
- Follow health and safety procedures, including correct PPE use and safe handling of hazardous materials.
Skills & Experience
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in prototype hard modelling.
- Proven expertise in A-class surfacing and finishing techniques.
- Strong practical problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- The ability to interpret CAD drawings and work accurately to technical specifications.
- A flexible approach to working on varied and bespoke projects.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- A commitment to quality, safe working practices and meeting project deadlines.
Location:
Coventry (UK)
This role is offered on a contract basis and is ideally suited to self-employed contractors operating via a limited company. This role has been assessed as outside IR35
