Vital Power Group is looking for a Generator Service Engineer to join their team.
As a Generator Service Engineer you will have an integral role within the service team, assisting in the delivery of the businesses on-site activities. We can be somewhat flexible on regional coverage depending on the candidate’s location. The contracted working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 16:30pm (with a 30-minute lunch break).
- To cover all aspects of generator servicing including oil and filter changes and oil, fuel, and coolant sampling.
- To conduct load bank testing on customer-owned generator units.
- To accurately fault find and diagnose both mechanical and electrical issues.
- To work on a broad range of generator/engine brands including (but not limited to) Cummins, Perkins, Caterpillar, John Deere, Volvo, Scania, Iveco, and Dorman.
- To complete all types of engine repairs (both mechanical and electrical).
- Batteries, battery chargers, water jacket heaters, starter cables, key switches, etc.
- To be able to complete or assist with mechanical engine rebuilds / top-end overhauls.
- To assist with projects where required.
- To demonstrate knowledge and experience of both mechanical and electrical skill sets.
Previous experience in similar generator services companies or within the power generation industry.
- Valid CSCS/ECS card.
- Willingness to undertake further training as required for professional development.
- Brand-specific generator training courses.
- Controls systems training courses.
- Electrical qualifications – City & Guilds, 17th/18th edition.
A competitive salary.
A discretionary twice per annum, ‘Profit Related Pay’ scheme that ties bonus amounts to the amount of profit made by the business.
Pension scheme after 3 months of service.
All employees receive 25 days leave (or equivalent pro-rata) per annum, plus additional bank holiday days.
Eligibility to join Vitality, Private Healthcare Scheme, and BHSF Healthcare Cash Plan, after 6 months of service.
